眼鏡を変えて読書欲がでてきた

　眼鏡を使いだして50年近くなる。途中コンタクトに変えたこともあったが、管理が面倒で眼鏡に戻った。視力が合わなくなり眼鏡を変える度、慣れるまで肩こり・頭痛が1－2週間続く。それが嫌で、見えにくくなっても我慢して使ってきた。どうしようもなくなってきたら、仕方なく眼鏡を変える。こんなことを繰り返してきた。
　今回も、老眼が進行し、手元が見えなくなってきた。しかたなく、昨年末にレンズを変えた。今回は頭痛は軽度、肩こりはまだ続いているが我慢できる程度。しかし本を読むのが非常に楽になった。こんなことなら、もっと早く変えればよかった。と懲りずに毎回同じことを考える。

　とりあえず、読まずにたまっていた本を読みだした。何冊か新書を読み、今は『哲学と宗教全史』に取り掛かっている。ついでに、池澤夏樹の『血の仕事術』に刺激を受け、出版社のPR誌にも手を出すことにした。学生の頃、岩波書店の『図書』を1年ぐらい定期購読したことがあったが、それ以来だ。

　ネットで、岩波書店・筑摩書房・新潮社・朝日新聞出版に申し込みをしてみた。日曜日に申し込み、朝日が一番早く火曜日に振込用紙が送られてきた。水曜に筑摩、木曜に岩波と１日づつずれて届いた。新潮社からはまだ届いていない。

　届いた３社を簡単に比較する。

　届いた見本をパラパラ眺めて、早速PR効果があった。ちくま文庫から『楠勝平コレクション』山岸涼子編を見つけた。こんな本でてたんだ。近所の書店でちくま文庫新刊はチェックしていたつもりだったが。hontoで調べると、近所の書店には在庫が無かった。早速ネットで注文した。

　家の者は、こんなのが毎月来ると、余計な本を買ってしまうと苦言を呈している。
